COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response
Updated 25 March, 2020.
At Berger Kordos Lawyers, our priority remains the wellbeing of our clients and our people and their families. Accordingly, and in view of the events that unfolded over the weekend, we are implementing further changes to the way we are continuing to work in response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.
Our relationship with you and with each other is our paramount consideration and we are implementing these measures to ensure that these relationships can continue.
We will continue to practice however our office at William Street will now close as our people are able to work remotely. You can continue to contact us by phone and email as usual. We understand we are fortunate in being able to continue to assist our clients in a productive and effective manner whilst not being physically present in the office
. We are confident that our expert staff will continue to provide the same high level of service as we have the technology and infrastructure available to do so. In fact we have had a remote working policy in place for some time. Accordingly, we can and will still assist our clients.
Our teams will continue to remain in contact with each other. In line with the advice of the Australian and Victorian Governments and World Health Organisation recommendations, and the practices being put into place in the Family and Federal Circuit Courts, we now require client meetings and Court attendances be conducted via telephone or video conferencing. We continue to be able to communicate with all parties, the Courts, Barristers, Mediators, Psychologists, Family Report Writers, Valuers and our other contacts via email, phone or videoconferencing.
We will continue to keep you updated while we monitor the situation closely and act on the advice of health authorities as to the latest developments, including when our physical office may be able to re-open.
We wish our clients, contacts and the community the very best through this uncertain time and thank you for continuing to work together to minimise the challenges presented at the moment.
